How is the service provided by Heart Connections different from other dating and matchmatching services?

Heart Connections is different from many other dating and matchmaking services in that Wendy does not simply set consider matches with other active clients; she considers a match with any appropriate single person with whom she or her staff comes in contact—whether or not they have enlisted her services or paid a fee. They must be good possible match and have completed the screening before they are presented. Photos are provided prior to any match meeting. Wendy also provides image presentation consulting, relationship and dating coaching to optimise success. Many matched couples continue to use her relationship coaching services as our goal is to help create long-term loving partnerships. She is a trained, experienced relationship coach and matchmaker with an MA in psychology, and she utilises these skills in her work.

How is Heart Connections’ matchmaking service different from just going on a blind date that one of my friends arranges for me?

Heart Connections’ service is very different from the blind dates your friends and colleagues might arrange for you because Wendy carefully and strategically chooses the people with whom you will be matched after screening the many single people whom Wendy and her staff know. Your friends, on the other hand, may introduce you to people who are simply single and available, and they likely spend very little time thinking about whether or not you have anything in common other than the fact that you are both single and looking to meet someone. They are also not trained experts in matchmaking, and they have a very limited numbers of contacts. It may also be uncomfortable to run into this "blind date" at mutual social events if things don’t work out.

How is Heart Connections different from online dating services?

The service provided by Heart Connections is very different from online dating in that Wendy’s service is very personalised and customised. Wendy works as a liaison between you and your possible match. She throughly pre-screens everyone, and some potential candidates are not accepted into the programme. She also provides accurate and verified information about them. Background checks are available upon request*. Wendy gets to know you well, and she chooses only people who she thinks are appropriate for you and fit what you are seeking in a long-term partner. She provides you with a detailed presentation before any match meeting. With online dating services, such as Find Someone, you have to verify that the people are who they say they are. Perhaps they are not as they have represented themselves. In fact, a recent study states that 40% or more of men online are actually married and only seeking an affair. In addition, online dating can be very time-consuming and draining, whereas Wendy spends time sifting through potential people for you, so you, as a busy professional person, can maximize your efforts and get the most positive results. We focus on quality not quantity so we won’t be contacting you weekly with possible matches.

However, matchmaking has been an ancient tradition going back thousands of years. Wendy’s clients are very normal, desirable people. Like you, they are intelligent, attractive, successful, interesting, and have active social lives. They may date a lot and often, but they are also very busy with work and with personal interests, so they are choosing to optimise their time and energy by hiring a dating professional to help them locate their special someone. Most of our clients come by referral; we do very limited advertising.

Where do you find the single people with whom I might go out on my dates?

Wendy and her staff find the dates for you anywhere and everywhere they go. They are always networking! Wendy and her staff attend wine events, art gallery openings, charity events, restaurant and store openings, fashion events, and cocktail parties to find appropriate dates for her single clients. Wendy puts out "feelers" to friends and friends of friends for certain types of people that have been specifically requested by her clients. And Wendy and her staff also approach in a discreet way interesting, attractive people whom they see in their everyday life, like at the health club, in a high-end grocery store like Moore Wilsons, or in an office building in an effort to locate the right people for her clients and to expand the Heart Connections singles dating database.

Do you take every person who contacts you as a matchmaking client?

Heart Connection’s matchmaker services are popular, and we screen our "active" programme clients carefully. Wendy also makes sure that, when she accepts a new client, she will be able to match them with the type of people whom they are interested in meeting. Therefore, she does turn down some prospective clients if she thinks that their expectations are not reasonable, they are not appropriate for the programme or they are not truly serious about finding a life partner. Wendy can also work with only a limited number of clients every year, given the highly personal nature of the business.
